Cisco Firepower 2100 Series Appliances
The Cisco Firepower 2100 Series is a set of four threat-focused security solutions that provide enhanced threat defense and business resiliency. When enhanced threat features are enabled, they provide remarkable long-term performance. The firewall, cryptography, and threat inspection operations are all optimized on these platforms thanks to a novel twin multicore CPU architecture.
The firewall throughput range of the series is designed to address use cases ranging from the Internet edge to the data center. The Cisco Firepower 2130 platform complies with the Network Equipment Building Standards (NEBS). The Cisco Secure Firewall ASA or Threat Defense (FMC) software is installed on the 2100 Series platforms. They can be used as a firewall or as a specialized IPS.
